The sledge underframe has shock-absorbing springs between the runners (7) and the frame (1) above. To give smooth running irrespective of the weight of the load, the springs have shock-dampers (17) each side and diagonal bars (8) inclined the opposite way to the dampers, together with articulated links (12,14).
