Protective system ensures that the control linkage is interlocked in the OFF-position after the control rod has reached the same position, so that the nuclear reactor cannot run away even if a ship should capsize. In case of a scram, an interlock sleeve hits a collar and allows balls to enter its wider parts so that a coupling sleeve can be moved up by a spring and force interlock levers into recesses of the guide tube. |
