PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of an Fe-Al-Si alloy without deteriorating the superior magnetic characteristics by combinedly adding A Pt group element and N2 or C to the Fe-Al-Si alloy. CONSTITUTION:This alloy consists of, by weight, 3-16% Si, 2.5-17% Al, 0.001-4.0% of >=1 kind of Pt group element, 5-1,000ppm N2 and/or 100- 2,000ppm C, and the balance chiefly Fe. Less then the lower limits of the Pt group element, N2 and C do not distinctly produce the effect, and more than the upper limits of them deteriorate remarkably the magnetic characteristics and make the alloy impractical. By this method the wear resistance and machinability can be also improved. By further adding an adequate amount of an element such as Ti or V as a secondary component, the corrosion resistance can be improved furthermore by the synergistic effect. |
