Method and apparatus for cutting and/or configuring a fibrous sheet by pressing the sheet along adjacent lines with elastic means which press one surface and non- elastic means which press the opposite surface and by displacing said lines with respect to one another in order to separate the sheet without compacting the split edges of the sheet.
