PURPOSE:To increase the hardness of the resulting alloy and to considerably reduce the magnetic permeability by providing a specified composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, V, Mo and/or Mb, and the balance Fe. CONSTITUTION:This high hardness nonmagnetic alloy has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.1-0.6% C, <=2.0% Si, 5-15% Mn, 5-15% Cr, 5-13% Ni, 1-3% V, <=1% Mo and/or <=2% Nb, and the balance essentially Fe. This alloy has <= about 1.005 magnetic permeability and > about 200 hardness (VHN). |
