<p>A rotary converter machine which includes a stator with three-phase primary, and secondary windings, and a rotor mounted within the stator which includes a damping winding. The primary and secondary stator windings are arranged on a common stator pack and located in continuous stator slots, both windings extending over the whole axial length of the common stator pack. The converter machine provides a direct transfer of the electrical energy by flux linkage between the two windings. The rotor is driven by the rotating magnetic field either asynchronously, if a drum rotor is provided, or synchronously, if a salient-pole rotor is provided.</p> |
