PURPOSE:To always properly wind thread, by pinch-holding a bobbin between a headstock and a tailstock. CONSTITUTION:An automatic thread winder comprises a tailstock 52 movable back and forth and a headstock 51 for rotating a bobbin. The tailstock 52 and the headstock 51 are coaxially opposed to each other. The tailstock 52 comprises a spindle and a cylinder which are movable relative to each other in the axial direction. In the normal winding of thread, the bobbin is pinch-held between the spindle and the headstock 51. When the to-be-held end part of the thread is wound on the bobbin, the thread and the bobbin are pinched between the cylinder and the headstock 51. Just after the stoppage of the rotation of the headstock 51, the cylinder is moved forth to pinch the bobbin between the cylinder and the headstock 51. |
