1284578 Moulding foam parts on sheets; shoe soles CARL FREUDENBERG 25 Nov 1969 [30 Nov 1968] 57666/69 Heading B5A An article comprising a sheet with a raised part of foamed plastics material bonded to it is made by inserting a foamable paste of plastics material 5 into an open mould 4, laying the sheet material against a former 1 with a resilient surface 2 of elastic material, pressing the mouth of the mould against the sheet material where it is supported by the former and foaming the paste. The sheet material may be leather or fabric and the former may be rigid and covered with a layer of rubber or polyvinyl chloride, 1-3 mm. thick. For moulding shoes or slippers, the former is a last in the shape of a foot and the raised portions form the sole and heel. |
