<p>The rapid centering stock is used on a parallel lathe to speed up sequential operations such as drilling, thread-cutting and length-setting. It comprises a slidable spindle (9) mounted in a cylindrical casing (1), by which it is mounted on the counter-point sleeve (2). Tool-retaining pincers or a turret (25) are mounted on the end of the spindle with a hand wheel (13) effecting spindle displacements being fixed under the casing. The wheel drives a pinion (12) engaging a rack (10) cut on the spindle, the turret being guided and supported by a slidable column (22) located by a bracket (23).</p> |
