Holder for sets of culture slides is assembled from a pair of vertical panels sepd. by a base plate and fixed top plate and with superficial integral or bonded ribs to support and separate the edges of a stack of slides. The holder has a fixed backplate and a removable front cover which can be clamped in place so that loaded slides cannot move. Used esp. for holding sets of slides for comparative microculture tests, to prevent disturbance of the order of treated slides. Gaps between the edges of the vertical walls allow free ventilation of the enclosed slides, to avoid e.g. local oxygen starvation. Pref. the components are made of rigid plastic sheet. Opt. the top plate features a handle for lifting the loaded holder.
