PURPOSE:To provide an abnormal transport detector for a copier or the like which is adapted to detect an abnormal transport according to a result of detecting that kan article is present at a fixed position of a path by the first or the second signal output timing, so that abnormality can be detected even at a discharge portion of the path. CONSTITUTION:In response to a paper feed signal, a control station 13 sets a L timer and an E timer, and after the lapse of each time, according to signals of size detectors 91-9n, a timing signal TOL is output from the L timer 17, and a timing signal TOE is output from the E timer 18. Such timing is set by a transport speed and a distance in such a manner that a detection on presence of a copy material P by a detector 12 disposed downstream from a paper discharge roller 10 is L at the time of the signal TOL and H at the time of the signal TOE. Therefore, the control station 13 judges that transport is abnormal when the outputs of the detector 12 in respective timings are different from that of the normal state. Thus, even at a discharge portion of the path, an abnormal transport can be detected assuredly according to the size of a copy material. |
