Thermally insulating liners for hanger brackets supporting pipework are made from a narrow continuous strip of vulcanised rubber enclosed in a fabric cover. Sufficient is cut to length to fit the circumference of the pipe to be supported. The cover may be woven as a tubular or strip profile, the latter being wide enough to envelope the rubber core strip when suitably folded; in either case the cover is pref. anchored to the core strip by stitching, stapling etc. Pref. the cover is marked in intervals as a function of pi so that a suitable length can be conveniently cut to suit a pipe of known overall diam. Opt. more than one layer of fabric is provided to line the major faces of the core strip. Mr More versatile and easier to fit than linings made as or cut from tubular profiles. The edges of the liners are covered with the same matl. as their faces.
