The invention relates to a shield-tail seal for driving shields which is preferably designed as a double seal and has two gap seals (18, 19) arranged at a distance one behind the other and detachably secured to the inside of the shield tail. According to the invention, several tension members (36) distributed over the gap periphery are attached to the seal support (20) of the rear gap seal (18), which tension members (36) extend forwards in the gap (17) in the direction of the shield axis and are detachably secured at a relatively wide distance in front of the gap seal or in the area of the front gap seal (19) or in front of it. The fastening point of the (rear) gap seal (18) is therefore relatively easily accessible from the shield space so that it is possible to change damaged gap seals in operation without particular difficulties. <IMAGE>
