摘要 |
PURPOSE:To increase the shutter speed and at the same time to prolong the lifetime of a shutter, by providing a shutter function to a solid-state image pickup device itself. CONSTITUTION:The electric charge generated in a semiconductor substrate by the light made incident to a photoelectric transducer train 1 is integrated for a certain period and then transferred to a contiguous charge transfer element train 2. The signal charge transferred to the train 2 is frame-transferred to the corresponding train 2 in a storing region 4 in a short time. The signal charge in the region 4 is read out per each line through a reading region 8. The optically induced charge within the train 1 is transferred to a charge sucking region 6 when no image pickup is carried out and then integrated within the train 1 only during the signal charge integrating time (equivalent to the shutter open time) to be read out. The shutter speed is decided by the integrating time of the signal charge. |
