<p>PURPOSE:To prepare the titled antibiotic substance having improved antimicrobial activity against fungi and autitumor action, by cultivating a microorganism belonging to the genus Streptomyces. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism, e.g. Streptomyces longisporus S5401 (FERM-P No. 6139), belonging to the genus Streptomyces, and having the ability to produce a novel antibiotic substance SS5401A is inoculated into a nutrient culture medium and cultivated aerobically to collect the novel antibiotic substance SS5401A from the culture. The resultant antibiotic substance has improved antimicrobial activity against fungi and also the antitumor action.</p> |
