The switching device consists of a switching element (4), which is inserted into an opening in the housing wall (1a), is constructed such that it can be displaced and tipped, and is provided with a rotation shaft (5). The one end (6a) of a rod (6) which can be displaced in its longitudinal direction is connected in a hinged manner to the rotation shaft (5). The other rod end (6b) is connected to the switch (7) of the drive motor (3) via a spring (8). The part (4b) of the switching element (4) facing the front rod end (6a) is supported on a projection (9) of the housing wall (1b) when the motor is switched off. When the sliding switching-on movement takes place, said part is guided over the edge of the projection (9) and hence tips downwards about the rotation shaft (5). <IMAGE>
