PURPOSE:To make an optical head small-sized and lightweight, by magnetically floating a movable element containing an optical system by use of a magnetic bearing. CONSTITUTION:The opposed surfaces of the side of moving parts 501, 601, and the side of fixed parts 502, 602, of a driving electromagnet of a magnetic bearing are opposed in parallel, but they are inclined against the center line of objective lenses 510, 610. Therefore, when the electromagnet is driven, force is generated in both the axial direction and the radial direction. Therefore, no independent electromagnet in the axial direction and the radial direction is required. Accordingly, in this way, the optical head can be constituted of a small quantity of parts, and as a result, its structure is simplified, and it can be made small-sized and lightweight. |
