A teeth-cleaning utensil, for example a toothbrush, a toothbrush stand or wall holder or a teeth-cleaning beaker, wherein a signal generator, relaying a completion signal on completion of the medically recommended teeth-cleaning duration, is attached or incorporated. The completion signal and correspondingly the relevant signal generator can be designed in various ways. It can consist of the beginning or the completion of a process or a temporary process. In a preferred embodiment as a childrens toothbrush (2), the signal generator is incorporated in an imitation (4) of the head of a fairytale figure mounted, preferably removably, on the free end of the toothbrush handle in the form of a musical clock (6), a miniature tape recorder or a clockwork mechanism which, for example, moves the eyes (26) or ears. <IMAGE>
