The people-guiding system (I) consists of at least one swing door (1 or 1') and a people-scanning device (40) operating in a contactless manner. If an individual is detected by the people-scanning device (40), the door wing or wings (5) of the people-guiding device (I) open(s) and close(s) after a time interval. Each door wing (5) is driven by a pivoting gear (10) with an electric motor (6) changing the direction of rotation. In order to avoid release of forces which may have harmful effects on the pivoting gear (10) and the electric motor (6) upon arbitrary interruption of the pivoting movement of the door wings (5), a hydraulic coupling (20) is arranged in the power transmission path between the door wing (5) and the electric motor (6), which coupling converts the energy produced on holding the door wing (5) into heat when the electric motor (6) is running.
