Gas discharge tube for gas lasers

The invention relates to gas discharge tubes for gas lasers based on vapours of chemical elements. The gas discharge tubes have a gasproof housing (1) with outlet openings (3), electrodes provided in the housing, and a jacket, located in the housing, of a gas discharge channel (4), and are characterised by a holder (6) for the laser material which is provided within the jacket of the gas discharge channel (4) and coaxially thereto. The gas discharge tubes according to the invention are preferably suitable for lasers based on metal vapours which have a high power and a large volume of the active medium. <IMAGE>
