The invention relates to an energy store, in which the energy of the water, which flows from a storage reservoir at a higher altitude to the turbine, is first stored. When water flows from a height of 10 m into the 100 m long energy store, the air in the hoses is forced under 1 kp pressure against the pipe wall. With energy stored, the energy store has a diameter of 2 m, resulting in a pressure storage area of 6,280,000 cm<2>. On storing, 314,000 litres of water (314,000 kp of energy) flow out of the storage reservoir and these press in the energy store against a storage area of 6,280,000 cm<2> under 1 kp. This gives a storage energy of 6,280,000 kp. By opening the energy store towards the turbine (Figure 4), the stored energy is released.
