An improved hand stirrer for stirring relatively small quantities of liquid and doughy media is proposed, consisting of a flat stirring head, a round shaft and a handle which can be gripped with positive fit and is arranged at the shaft end away from the stirring head angled relative to the longitudinal direction of the shaft. The angled handle arrangement and the main surface of the stirring head arranged in a rotated manner relative to the longitudinal direction of the handle allow the stirring head to be held constantly in the position which is favourable for intense mixing with a relaxed hand and arm position of the user. The special design of the lower finish of the stirring head keeps the friction resistance between the stirring head and the bottom of the stirring vessel as low as possible, but guarantees an intensive mixture of the product down to immediately above the bottom of the stirring vessel. <IMAGE>
