The smooth casing of a motor-driven rope drum of a mobile rope winch is of conical design with an angle of slope corresponding to the angle of friction between the load part and the rope drum, and, instead of the rope end being secured to the rope drum in a conventional manner, a clamping disc is provided which is driven in synchronism with the rope drum and via which the rope length pulled off the casing end of smaller diameter is deflected in the direction of a rope magazine. Due to the conical design of the casing of the rope drum, the load part only undergoes single-layer winding so that it can have an unlimited length for fetching a load.
