In response to an interruption request, the performance of the interruption, i.e. the data transfer, is inserted by the processor (P) between two program steps. A data word is addressed in a data register (DR) by the interruption request. The current program is stopped to perform the interruption, the bus (B) is released and the data transfer performed.
