The subject of the invention is a valve rocker arrangement for the engine speed-dependent valve timing of internal combustion engines in which the individual cams on the camshaft have a profile varying in the longitudinal direction and, if necessary, also in a transverse direction. In order, by simple design means, to obtain an overlap of the opening times varying precisely as a function of the engine speed, each valve rocker (1) is supported in a bracket (1), which is supported in the cylinder head so that it can swivel about a vertical central pivot. The centre axis of the central pivot passes through the bearing surface of the valve tappet on the valve rocker arm, the other valve rocker arm running on the cam by means of a roller. A control element (5) is coupled to the bracket (2), which element swivels it according to the engine or camshaft speed of rotation, so that the valve rocker roller runs on a cam path specially designed for this speed, in which an optimum overlap occurs at any given time. <IMAGE>
