For the exchange of heat on containers with spherically curved walls, e.g. for cooling liquids, tube coil systems have previously been used. These have to be adapted to the respective surface curvatures. Additionally, they only come into contact with the container wall in a linear manner. The degree of efficiency during heat exchange is thus unsatisfactory. The invention now uses heat exchanger plates made up of two sheets, the one sheet being completely flat and channels for the heat exchange medium being impressed in the other sheet. Such heat exchanger plates have a transverse incision from at least one longitudinal side or are provided with relief slots. As a result, they can easily be adapted to spherical surface curvatures. In this case, the flat side comes snugly into contact with the container wall. As a result, a surface contact is achieved with a considerable increase in performance compared to tube coil systems.
