The electrolyte which can be used in a galvanic cell in which at least one of the electrodes consists of a polyacetylene film which has been electrically charged by doping with cations or anions is a solid ion-conducting adduct consisting of an alkylene oxide polymer (polyether) and an alkali-metal salt. The resultant solid-state cell can even be made completely of organic material if polyacetylene films with mutually opposite doping are used for the two electrodes. Because their components can be readily decomposed, used cells of this type are not a source of environmental pollution.
