PURPOSE:To set a stylus tip to a desired music selecting position directly, by providing an offset which is a little smaller than overshoot of a mechanism, on the stylus tip of a cartridge and an optical axis of an optical sensor. CONSTITUTION:Light from an optical sensor 2 of an LED is reflected by a record 4, and is detected by an optical sensor 3 of a phototransistor. In this state, on a stylus tip 5 and an optical axis 2a in the maximum sensitivity part of the sensor 2, an offset lP is provided, and it is set so as to be smaller than overshoot of a mechanism. When intermusic is detected and the mechanism has stopped, the stylus tip moves from the end of the previous music by a distance of lM-lP. If width of intermusic is lR, in case when lR>lM-lP is sat isfied, the stylus tip 5 always stops at intermusic. In this way, it is unnecessary to return by a portion of overshoot, and the stylus tip 5 can be set directly to a desired music selecting position. |
