The invention relates to seating and lying furniture having two frames (3, 4) arranged one above the other. The lower frame (4) is swivelled into the plane of the upper frame (3) by means of a lever fitting (6). In order that this movement can be accomplished with an easy manipulation, the lever fitting (6) is displaceable in guides (7) by means of rollers (8, 9). Moreover, the guides (7) have a bent portion (21) with a retaining device (22) for the front rollers (8) and have retaining pins (19, 20) whose spacing corresponds to the difference between the forward and reverse movement of the rear rollers (9). <IMAGE>
