The screening-drum device serves for the drying and shrinking treatment of knitted fabrics. For this, there are arranged on the inner face of the screening-drum outer cylindrical surface, for the suction draft taking effect from the outside inwards, nozzles which blow the textile material resting in folds on the screening drum against a baffle plate or corotating screening band arranged at a distance from the screening drum. So that a sufficiently large textile-web loop can form, the respective nozzle orifice is surrounded by a pressureless space which is formed within a housing arranged sealingly on the inner cylindrical surface of the screening drum. It is expedient additionally to arrange a fixed cover on the far side of the rotating screening band in the region of the nozzle orifice or, if a baffle plate is used, to make this otherwise air-permeable plate impermeable to air.
