<p>A device for controlling a drive engine-transmission unit of a motor vehicle comprises a control unit which can be influenced by an engine characteristic memory containing output characteristic curves of the drive engine, by a transmission characteristic memory containing a transmission characteristic and by an engine speed measuring instrument. In order to obtain an optimum fuel consumption allowing for a time restriction, the control unit is also influenced by a fuel consumption measuring device known in the art, the control unit determining a characteristic variable determining the method of driving giving the optimum fuel consumption - the limit consumption gamma - and feeding this instantaneous limit consumption gamma and an individually determined limit consumption gamma ref to an analysing device.</p> |
