The object of the invention is to provide a back projection screen which has good to very good optical properties, which is able to withstand mechanical stresses very well and which has an extremely low cost price. According to the invention, this object is achieved by a highly transparent drawing paper which acts by its nature as a light-scattering material. In further development of the subject of the invention, the highly transparent drawing paper is coated, laminated or made up on one or both sides with a mat or glossy microfilm, or is coated or laminated on one or both sides with a mat or glossy lacquer or is protected on one or both sides by acrylic or glass plates or is embedded therein.
