A bulk material conveying installation for unloading ships (1) comprises a boom (5), from whose free end is suspended a perpendicular supporting framework (10) so as to be capable of pivoting about a vertical axis (9), at the lower end of which framework the bulk material (S) is collected from the ship (1). The conveying means provided is a belt (15) with corrugated edges which leads from the lower end of the supporting framework (10) to the boom (5). Provided at the lower end of the supporting framework (10) is a substantially horizontal cross-member (11) on which two bucket wheels (12a; 12b) are rotatably mounted, the two bucket wheels (12a; 12b) conveying in opposite directions of rotation. This conveying installation has the advantage that virtually no torques are transferred by this arrangement to the supporting framework (10) via the bucket wheels (12a, 12b). <IMAGE>
