In a grilling device with a grilling grid and an ember grid, the ember grid is arranged in plan view outside the grilling grid and below it so that the liquid (fat and juice) dripping down from the grilled food cannot drop into the embers. Furthermore, a draught regulator is provided on the ember grid. Moreover, the housing between the grilling grid and the ember grid is designed in such a way that a chimney effect is achieved for the air flow occurring on the ember grid. The liquid arising from the grilled food is collected in a collection trough directly below the grilling grid.
