Zeolites used in catalytic conversion processes such as cracking, hydrocracking and dewaxing are activated by co-feeding (a) water and/or a water precursor and/or (b) hydrogen sulphide and/or a hydrogen sulphide precursor with the feedstock. Suitable water precursors include alcohols such as methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol and pentanol.The method maybe used to restore lost activity or maintain a given level of activity. |
