The invention relates to a device, in particular in the form of a shop shelf or sales counter unit, for rapid ready-to-eat preparation of baking products or foods which are unbaked, prebaked or have already been baked and are stored in a cooled manner until this preparation. The device consists essentially of a refrigerated shelf unit (1) - or a refrigerated counter unit (40) - which is fitted with shelves to display the products and in which there are integrated a heating oven (2), preferably a microwave oven, for defrosting and/or heating and/or cooking or baking the food and, if required, a warming cabinet (3) or shelf. The heating oven (2) and, if required, a warming cabinet (3) or shelf are preferably integrated in such a way that the circulation of ambient air (A, B) of the refrigerated shelf unit (1) - or of the refrigerated counter unit (40) - is maintained. <IMAGE>
