A conventional lorry with a chassis which has at least driven front wheels and a chassis frame which is through-going to the rear, bears at least one rear axle and on which is arranged a loading body extending to the rear end of the lorry, is converted into an inclined lift truck. For this purpose, first the rear axle is removed from the chassis frame and then a lifting gear is arranged in its place and, in the transverse direction, a cylinder device is arranged on the chassis frame. On both sides of the chassis frame, the cylinder device has extendable piston rods on which are mounted longitudinal rockers which bear rear wheels and on their end have a support bearing which in the retracted position engages under the chassis frame.
