PURPOSE:To manufacture a heat collector having a stable performance economically, by introducing hydrogen into a degassed cover tube, making a metal substance occlude hydrogen, then controlling the pressure in the cover tube to a required degree of vacuum through degassing and dehydrogenation, and there- after sealing the cover tube. CONSTITUTION:A cover tube 1 incorporating therein a heat collecting plate or the like is connected to a vacuum exhausting means, and the internal space of the cover tube 1 is degassed to about 10<-6>mm.Hg by use of the vacuum exhausting means by heating only the cover tube section in a heating means (step B). Then, hydrogen gas is introduced into the cover tube 1 and occluded by a hydrogen gas occluding and releasing metal material M (step C). Thereafter, pressure of hydrogen gas in the vacuum tube 1 is controlled to about 10<-4>mm.Hg at 100 deg.C by exhausting hydrogen gas by the vacuum exhausting means (step D). Finally, the cover tube 1 is sealed hermetically at the joint where it is connected to the vacuum exhausting means. |
