PURPOSE:To make it possible to print characters without digit shifting, by providing a printing direction memory means wherein the printing direction is stored, and moving the head in the reverse direction with respect to the direction stored in the printing direction memory means when a head return is commanded. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed control circuit 5 controls a gear motor system 10 in compliance with the command from an interface control circuit 1, rotates a platen 12, and moves paper 11. A print control circuit 6 sequentially reads dot patterns of a line buffer and controls the dot pins of a head 13, when the printing is commanded by the interface control circuit 1. At the same time, the print control circuit 6 starts a reverse direction head movement control circuit 7. Said control circuit 7 moves the head 13 in the direction specified by the starting signal from the print control circuit 6. When the control circuit 7 receives the head return command from the interface control circuit, the circuit 7 moves the head in the reverse direction with respect to the direction specified by a moving direction register 8. |
