1,079,111. Casings for casting concrete piles. METAL CONTAINERS Ltd. Jan. 31, 1966 [Feb. 9, 1965], No. 5640/65. Heading E1H. A lost pile casing for use in forming a castin-situ concrete pile comprises a thin sheet steel tubular member 11b having a plurality of axially, spaced inwardly projecting circumferential fins or flanges 12 constituted by circumferential folds in the wall. The pile casing can be built up of a plurality of tubular sections 11b, 11c &c. in which the end of a section 11c projects into the adjacent end of a section 11b so that the two sections are secured to one another by the inwardly extending circumferential fold 12b. The radial width of the fins and their axial spacing can be adapted to local requirements. The fins may also be in planes inclined to the axis of the pile casing. |
