1289693 Ampicillin preparations BRISTOLMYERS CO 3 Dec 1969 [4 Dec 1968] 59080/69 Heading A5B An ampicillin preparation which is readily suspendable in aqueous media to provide stable suspensions, e.g. for injection, is made by coating particles of ampicillin of size below 200 mesh U.S.S.S. with lecithin and polyvinylpyrrolidone. They may be made by conventional methods, e.g. by contacting the ampicillin particles with a solution of the colloid and surfactant in a volatile solvent which is evaporated from the mixture. Additional conventional ingrediets, e.g. a preservative and a source of sodium ions, e.g. NaCl and/or sodium citrate, may also be present. |
