PURPOSE:To aim at facilitation for manufacturing a bearing, by forming a metallic layer on the inner surface of a transparent or semitransparent ringlike member, while trimming this metallic layer into a desired form with laser beam radiation, in case of a groove bearing. CONSTITUTION:A low-melting-point metallic layer 16 such as copper, aluminum, etc., is formed in a thickness of 0.2-0.3mm. or so by means of plating and the like on the inner surface of a transparent or semitransparent ringlike member 15 made of glass, acryl etc. Next, a laser beam L is radiated from the side of a bearing 3. With this radiation, the beam L is transmitted through the member 3, reaching the matallic layer 16 which therefore is evaporated or melted. Accordingly, a laser beam machine is then numerically controlled and thereby the beam is shifted into a desired form, e.g., V-shapes, through which a groove 4 in the desired form with a depth of 0.2-0.3mm. can be formed in the metallic layer 16. Like this, a groove bearing serving as a dynamic pressure fluid bearing is obtainable. |
