PURPOSE:To enable modulations to be performed by signals with small voltage by installing a plate-like electrode, which regulates beam drawing areas, between a cathode and signal controlling electrodes which perform signal modulations by controlling the amount of beams. CONSTITUTION:A back electrode which gives a negative electric potential is provided on one side of a linear cathode 2. Next, a plate-like electrode 10, which has vertically long holes which restrict beam drawing areas, is placed on the other side of the cathode 2 closely to the cathode 2. After that, control electrodes 4 which carry out modulations by controlling the amount of beams, and focusing electrodes 3 and 5 are placed on the outer side of the electrode 10 so as to apply beams on a fluorescent screen by performing vertical and horizontal deflections, thereby constituting a displayer which realizes a plate-type television picture device. As a result, modulations can be performed by signals with small voltage by absorbing the concaves and convexes of the electrodes 4 by the electrode 10, and making the cathode 2 and the signal elecrodes 4 adjacent to each other. |
