PURPOSE:To perfectly prevent slopping by regulating the amount of a gas blown from the bottom of a converter to a specified amount or the bottom blowing ratio to a specified % or less and by blowing quick lime powder together with oxygen blown from the top. CONSTITUTION:A steel bath of low phosphorus pig iron in a converter is refined by blowing gaseous O2, Ar, N, CO2 or a gaseous mixture thereof from the bottom tuyere and most of O2 for blowing from the top. At this time, the amount of the gas blown from the bottom is regulated to 0.3Nm<3>/min.ton, or the bottom blowing ratio which is the ratio of the amount of the gas blown from the bottom to the total amount of the fed O2 is regulated to <=10%, and by blowing quick lime powder together with the O2 blown from the top, the high carbon steel is dephosphorized. The amount of the blown quick lime is regulatd to 0.5-1ton/min. |
