PURPOSE:To enable a joining lead to be installed into an outer tube by a simple method, with a high manufacturing efficiency, by connecting one end of a joining lead wire made of W wire to the end of one of stem leads through a metallic wire which is made of an annealed Ni ribbon wire or the like having a sufficient flexibility. CONSTITUTION:One end of a curved joining lead wire made of W wire is welded to an electrode lead wire 9 located at the top of an inner tube 1. The other end of the joining lead wire is connected to a stem lead wire 5 through an Ni ribbon wire 7, which is annealed so that it has a sufficient flexibility and has a length enough to cope with the locational variation between positions 6 and 6' of the joining lead wire, so that the joining lead wire can occupy a voluntary position between the position 6 indicated by a full line and the position 6' indicated by a dotted line. By the means mentioned above, the joining lead wire can be exceptionally easily located with a high manufacturing efficiency so that the discharge and the emission characteristics of the lamp can be maintained. |
