PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to use a fast-operation part for a code conversion part, and to reduce the price, by simultaneously converting N.x digits of an (n)-valued code into M.x digits of an (m)-valued code whiel regarding (x) as an integer which is >=2. CONSTITUTION:A code converter is equipped with an 8-bit series-parallel converting circuit 10' having 8 series-connected FF groups and 8 latch circuits, a 8B6T code conversion part 20' having a read-only memory and an integrator, a series-parallel converting circuit 30' consisting of 12 AND gates and 2 OR gate, a binary-ternary converting circuit 40, an 8-frequency-dividing circuit 55, a 6- multiplying circuit 65, and a sexenary ring counter 75. Said constitution simultaneously converts every N.x digits of an (n)-valued code, i.e. every (x) unit into an (m)-valued code of M.x digits. In this case, (x) is an integer >=2. For example, a 4B3T code is converted into a 6-digit ternary code by every 8 digits of a binary code at a time. |
