OPTICAL DATA BUS SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT

PURPOSE:To transmit a great amount of data at a time by transmitting data for specifying an extended mode command for the number of transmitted data words and the number of transmitted words before a bus controller transmits a reception/transmission command. CONSTITUTION:Terminal equipments 3a-3n are connected to a bus controller 1 through a star coupler 12 by data buses 101a-102n which use optical fibers. THose terminal equipments 3a-3n are each provided with a transmitting buffer memory for storing transmitted data, and a receiving buffer for storing received data. To transmit a great amount of data at a time, an extended mode command for the number of transmitted words is received from the bus controller 1 and then data for specifying the number of transmitted words is transmitted to all the terminals. Then, the controller 1 transmits a transmission/reception command to a receiving terminal and a transitting terminal. Further, the transmitting terminal transmits a great amount of data in extended mode to the receiving terminal at a time.
