摘要 PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in the efficiency of heat transfer to ink making the best use of the merits of a thermal electrostatic ink jet method, by a method wherein the opening for ink flying is provided by forming the recording sheet side of a head body by an organic resistant film and the electrode for application of current is arranged to a unit opening fringe part and heated by applying current according to picture information. CONSTITUTION:When a switching element 15 is turned on according to the picture information to be recorded, current is caused to flow to a corresponding through hole 13 fringe part via the electrode 14 for application of current and the ink unit area facing the corresponding penetrating hole 13 is joined by a thermal signal to be heated. Then, this heated ink unit area turns capable of flying by the decrease in the viscosity and surface tension of the ink 3 and the increase in its electric conductivity. Besides, when an electrostatic control pulse is applied to the electrode 22 for electrostatic induction synchronizing with the drive timing of a thermal signal application means 6, an electrostatic field is formed between the ink 3 facing an electric conductive layer 21 and the electrode 22 for electrostatic induction and the heated ink unit area flies toward a recording sheet 5 to be transferred by adhesion. Then, an ink dot is formed.
