PURPOSE:To provide an additive for animal feed or feed containing said additive, exhibiting excellent effects such as the promotion of the growth of animals such as cattle, poultry, fish, etc., and improvement in the feed efficiency, by using a specific fatty acid ester or its alkylene oxide adduct and a fatty acid salt as active components. CONSTITUTION:The objective additive contains (A) at least one fatty acid ester selected from sugar alcohol fatty acid ester such as sorbitol fatty acid ester, the fatty acid ester of a dehydrated and cyclized sugar alcohol such as sorbitan fatty acid ester, a polyglycerin fatty acid ester having a polymerization degree of 2-30, a glycerin mono-fatty acid ester, and a propylene glycol mono-fatty acid ester, and/or their alkylene oxide adducts, and (B) a fatty acid salt such as alkali metal salt of fatty acid, basic amino acid salt of fatty acid, etc. The weight ratio of (A):(B) is 97:3-3:97, and the amount of the additive is usually 0.001-20wt% of the feed. |
