PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer material for thermal printers, having good weather proofness, by providing an ink transfer layer consisting of a heat-breakable capsule containing an oily substance, a coloring agent, and a foaming agent and a binder on the surface of a supporter. CONSTITUTION:An ink transfer layer 2 consisting of a heat-breakable capsule 3 and a binder 4 is provided on the surface of a supporter 1 (e.g., paper, plastic film, etc.). In this case, an adhesive layer may be provided between the supporter 1 and the ink transfer layer 2. The ink used in the ink transfer layer 2 is composed of an oily substance (e.g., linseed oil, soybean oil, etc.), a coloring agent such as pigment or dye (e.g., carbon black, phthalocyanin blue, etc.), and a well- known foaming agent (e.g., sodium carbonate, N,N-dinitrosopentamethylenetetramine, etc.). The ink is capsulated and coated with a binder in an amount of 1-2 times as much as the capsule on the surface of a supporter. When a paper is lapped on the heat transfer layer and pressed by a thermal head, the ink is easily expanded and transferred to the paper. |
